Live Fully. Do not wait until your last day to meet the person you could have become.
THE PERSON YOU BECAME MEETS THE PERSON YOU COULD HAVE BECOME
There is a sobering picture in the Bible of a day when every life will ultimately stand before God. Jesus tells of the faithful servant who, having been entrusted with responsibility, fulfilled his assignment and heard the words: “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:23.
That verse resonates deeply with a powerful reflection associated with Viola Davis: the real definition of hell is reaching the end of your life and meeting the person you became face-to-face with the person you could have become.
Imagine that moment.
The person you became standing before the person you had the potential to become.
The life you lived meeting the life you could have lived.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
The goal is not merely to exist.
It is not simply to accumulate titles, money, followers or applause.
It is to live a life of faithfulness with what God placed in your hands.
To take your gifts seriously.
To confront your wounds.
To heal.
To grow.
To obey.
To build.
To become.
Because one day, after all the noise has faded, the question may not be how famous you became, how much money you made or how many people knew your name.
The question may be:
What did you do with the life, gifts, opportunities and purpose entrusted to you?
And perhaps that is where Viola Davis's reflection becomes deeply personal.
May the person you became not be a stranger to the person you had the potential to become.
May you have the courage to meet yourself honestly.
May you face the depth and darkness of your own soul.
Because there is no real becoming until you are willing to confront who you are.
There is no beginning without healing.
And there is no transformation without a radical acceptance of your truth.
There is no man behind the curtain who has ultimate control over your becoming.
There comes a point where you must stop waiting for permission.
Stop waiting for perfect circumstances.
Stop waiting for someone to choose you.
Stop waiting for the world to validate what God has already placed inside you.
Your crown has already been bought and paid for.
All you have to do is wear it.
And when your journey is over, may you have lived fully.
May you have loved deeply.
May you have exhausted what was placed inside you.
May you have built what you were called to build.
May you have healed what needed healing.
May you have become who you were created to become.
And when you finally stand before God, may the distance between the person you became and the person you could have become be small.
May you hear:
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
