Bring it back to God. Ask again. Believe again. Pray again.

When God Answers What You Asked Him For. 

Sometimes God will allow a moment, a person, or a prophetic word to remind us that He has not forgotten what we asked Him for.

In 2024, during Benny Hinn’s visit to Kenya, a moment involving Charlene Ruto captured the attention of many people. When asked what she desired, she expressed her desire for a husband. Benny Hinn subsequently spoke about the need for a husband to support her in the work ahead and prayed concerning that desire.

Two years later, many people have watched what they understand to be an answer to that prayer unfold.

Whatever our opinions may be about the personalities involved, there is a greater spiritual lesson here:

Do not lose hope in God because the answer has not yet appeared.

There are prayers you may have prayed years ago that seem forgotten. There are things you asked God for that people may have laughed at. There are promises you are still waiting to see. There are moments when you may wonder whether God heard you at all.

But God is not limited by our timelines.

Jesus said:

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.— Matthew 7:7

The lesson is not that every desire will be answered exactly when or how we expect. The lesson is that **we can trust the character of the God we are praying to.**

God Is Not a Man That He Should Lie

This brings us back to one of the most powerful declarations in Scripture:

God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?— Numbers 23:19

God does not need to lie to us.

He does not make promises because He has forgotten how to keep them.

He does not need our permission to fulfil His Word.

And sometimes He can use another person to say something that confirms what we have already been carrying in prayer.

Perhaps that is why we must be careful about mocking what we do not understand.

People may mock the person who prayed.

People may mock the person who prophesied.

People may mock the waiting.

People may even mock the eventual answer.

But we should never be so quick to mock what God may be doing.

Scripture warns us:

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.— Galatians 6:7

The fulfilment of another person's prayer should not make us bitter about our own unanswered prayers. Instead, it should remind us that God is still able to answer.

Your answer may not look like theirs.

Your timing may not be their timing.

Your journey may not be their journey.

But God has not changed.

Keep Asking God for What You Truly Desire

There is nothing wrong with telling God what you want.

Tell Him about the husband you desire.

Tell Him about the business you want to build.

Tell Him about the children you are praying for.

Tell Him about the healing, restoration, breakthrough, opportunity, provision, purpose and direction you desire.

Then surrender the timing and the method to Him.

The Bible says:

Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.— Psalm 37:4

And again:

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.— Mark 11:24

Faith does not mean pretending you have everything already.

Faith means continuing to trust God while you wait.

Do Not Let Other People's Comments Destroy Your Faith

One of the saddest things we can do is watch someone receive an answer to prayer and respond with mockery.

Someone else's testimony does not cancel your own.

Someone else's answered prayer is not evidence that God has forgotten you.

Instead, let it remind you:

God still answers prayers.

He still opens doors.

He still changes circumstances.

He still restores.

He still surprises people.

He still uses unexpected people and unexpected situations.

And sometimes, the very thing people laughed at becomes the testimony that makes them silent.

So do not allow the opinions of people to become louder than the voice of God in your life.

What Are You Asking God For?

Perhaps today you need to return to the simplicity of prayer.

What is the thing you have almost stopped believing God for?

What have you secretly told yourself is impossible?

What desire have you buried because you have waited too long?

Bring it back to God.

Ask again.

Believe again.

Pray again.

And while you wait, keep becoming the person who can carry the answer when it comes.

Because sometimes the waiting season is not punishment.

Sometimes God is preparing you for what you prayed for.

And when the answer finally comes, you will look back and understand why you had to wait.

God Will Do What He Has Said

The testimony is bigger than any one person.

It is about the faithfulness of God.

It is a reminder that God can use people to encourage us, confirm things, and speak into moments but ultimately, God is the One who fulfils His purposes.

So keep praying.

Keep believing.

Keep walking.

Keep your heart clean.

Keep your faith alive.

And do not mock another person's testimony simply because you do not understand their journey.

One day, you may be the person standing in the middle of an answered prayer that everyone once thought would never happen.

God is not a man that He should lie.

If He has spoken, He is able to bring it to pass.

If He has promised, He is faithful.

If He has placed a desire in your heart, take it to Him in prayer.

And if the answer takes time, do not lose hope.

Your waiting does not mean God has forgotten you.

God answers prayers. God keeps His Word. And God cannot be mocked.

Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” — Numbers 23:19

Believe. Pray. Wait. Trust.

Because God is not a man that He should lie.
