Before the Universe gives you what you want. It will put you to test

Before you receive what you are asking for, you may be tested.

God preparing, refining, and testing your faith and character.

These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold.— 1 Peter 1:7

The testing of your faith produces perseverance.— James 1:3

And for builders, James 1:4 takes it even further perseverance must finish its work so that you become mature and complete.

The Builder's interpretation

You may pray for the platform, and God first develops the character to carry it.

You may ask for wealth, and the season tests your stewardship.

You may ask for influence, and the season tests your integrity.

You may ask for a new level, and the season tests whether you can remain faithful when nobody is watching.

You may ask God to build something significant through you, and He may first work on you.

So the principle becomes:

Before God gives you what you have been praying for, He may take you through a season that prepares you to carry it.

Not every hardship is necessarily a test from God but every season can become a place where faith, character, wisdom and perseverance are developed.

A Builder's Bible

Don't despise the testing season.

The pressure may be preparing the builder before the building.
