You were made with a purpose

Psalms 139:14. It is part of King David's prayer, expressing awe at God's intentional creation of every human being.

I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Fearfully made does not mean "made in fear." It means you were made with reverence, awe, great care, and intentionality. God crafted you with wisdom and purpose.

Wonderfully made means you are unique, remarkable, and beautifully designed by God. Your life is not an accident.

For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother's womb.

My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in the secret place. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be.

What this means for your life

Your value comes from God, not from your appearance, wealth, achievements, or other people's opinions.

God created you with a purpose (see Jeremiah 29:11 and Ephesians 2:10).

You are worthy of love, dignity, and respect because you bear God's image (Genesis 1:27).

Even your perceived weaknesses can be used by God for His glory (2 Corinthians 12:9).

A simple prayer from Psalm 139:

Heavenly Father, thank You for creating me fearfully and wonderfully. Help me to see myself through Your eyes and not through the opinions of people or the lies of the enemy. Thank You that You formed me with purpose and love. Teach me to walk confidently in the calling You have prepared for me and to use my life to glorify You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
