The Power of Obedience:
When God Uses What Makes No Sense

Some messages don't just inspire us they confirm what God has already been speaking into our lives.
Over the past few weeks, one name kept appearing on my timeline: Orator Walubengo. I had never really followed his work before. Then, almost unexpectedly, he appeared on interviews hosted by Oga Obinna. Normally, I don't watch many long-form interviews. But something made me pause.
Perhaps it was because I have watched Oga Obinna's own journey over the years. Having met him during my earlier career, I have seen how intentionally he has built his personal brand. Beyond the entertainment, I admire his commitment to his children, his consistency and his growth.
Then came Orator Walubengo's story.
His message wasn't merely about public speaking. It was about assignment.
It reminded me that every one of us has an assignment from God, and our responsibility is not to compare our journey with others but to faithfully pursue what He has entrusted to us.
Last year, while listening to Pastor Wanje, Founding Pastor of Ridgeways Baptist Church, one truth stayed with me:
God often asks us to obey before He explains.
Today, I heard that same principle echoed through Orator Walubengo's testimony.
He shared how he consistently created public speaking content on TikTok. To many people, it may have looked ordinary. Maybe even pointless.
Then one day, a lady who had been following his content reached out and invited him to train people in public speaking.
The opportunity did not come because he chased it.
It came because he faithfully kept showing up.
That is obedience.
How many of us abandon what God asked us to do because it doesn't seem to be working? or it does not make? Or no one applauds us.
How many dreams die because we expect immediate results?
How many assignments remain unfinished because doubt becomes louder than faith?
Every builder knows these moments.
The long seasons.
The silent seasons.
The moments when imposter syndrome whispers:
Who are you?
You're not qualified.
Someone else can do it better.
Yet those are often the very moments when God is shaping our character more than our platform.
Scripture reminds us:
But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
1 Corinthians 1:27 (NIV)
God's methods rarely make sense to human logic.
He asks Noah to build before rain.
He asks Moses to stretch out a staff.
He asks David to face a giant with a sling.
He asks fishermen to become world changers.
He still asks ordinary people to do extraordinary things through simple acts of obedience.
Sometimes obedience looks like writing another article when no one seems to be reading.
Sometimes it is recording another podcast.
Posting another piece of content.
Serving another customer well.
Applying for another opportunity.
Showing up one more day.
None of it may make sense today.
One day, it will.
People may call it luck.
You will know it was obedience.
Because God never wastes obedience.
As David declared:
You shall increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.
Psalm 71:21 (NKJV)
MN Collective Reflection
The world measures success by visibility.
God measures success by faithfulness.
At MN Collective, we believe Africa's transformation will not be built by people waiting for perfect conditions.
It will be built by ordinary people who choose to believe, obey, remain consistent and faithfully steward what God has placed in their hands.
Every great brand begins with one decision.
Every lasting institution begins with one act of obedience.
Every movement begins with someone willing to take the first step, even when it doesn't make sense.
That is why we exist.
Believe in Faith.
Trust God's direction even when you cannot see the destination.
Brand with Integrity.
Let your character speak louder than your reputation.
Build with Purpose.
Create solutions that outlive you and impact generations.
Build Africa.
One obedient step. One leader. One business. One community at a time.
Because when people are transformed, businesses are transformed.
When businesses are transformed, communities flourish.
And when communities flourish, Africa rises.
Building People. Building Brands. Building Africa.
Inspired by the teachings of Pastor Wanje, Founding Pastor of Ridgeways Baptist Church, and the testimony shared by Orator Walubengo.
