Chase or Attract? Your Next Breakthrough Is a Relationship Away

Success is rarely a solo journey.

More often than not, your next breakthrough is one relationship away. God uses people to bless people. Throughout the Bible, He consistently worked through individuals to open doors, provide opportunities, offer wisdom, and fulfill His purposes.

As Proverbs 18:16 reminds us:

A man's gift makes room for him and brings him before great men. (NKJV)

This leaves us with two choices: chase or attract.


Chase

Sometimes you must intentionally pursue opportunities.

Attend conferences. Enter rooms that challenge you. Network. Send the email. Make the call. Introduce yourself. Ask for mentorship. Apply for the role. Volunteer. Be present in spaces where your future can find you.

Don't be intimidated by rooms filled with people who know more than you. Let those rooms stretch you. Growth begins where comfort ends.

The worst answer you can receive is "no." But if you never ask, the answer is always "no."


Attract

While chasing opens doors, attraction keeps them open.

Work relentlessly on yourself. Develop your skills. Build your character. Be known for excellence, integrity, consistency, and value. Become so good at what you do that people begin looking for you instead of you looking for them. Master your craft.

When your value becomes undeniable, opportunities start chasing you.

As Ecclesiastes 9:10 says:

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might.

Excellence attracts attention. Consistency builds trust. Character sustains influence.

Which One Should You Choose?

The answer is both.

In one season, you chase opportunities with humility and courage.

In another season, your preparation, excellence, and reputation begin attracting opportunities to you.

Keep showing up. Keep learning. Keep serving. Keep building.

God can connect you with one person who changes the trajectory of your life but He also expects you to become the kind of person worthy of that opportunity.

Your next breakthrough is not just about meeting the right people. It's also about becoming the right person.

Work so hard on your character, your competence, and your calling that one day you no longer have to chase opportunities they begin chasing you.
