Whoever has the power to feed you has the power to starve you."

When your survival, success, income, opportunities, or well-being depend entirely on someone else, they also hold significant control over your life. The person, institution, employer, government, customer, or partner who provides what you need can choose to withhold it.

The lesson is not to reject help it is to build independence, create options, develop skills, and avoid becoming completely dependent on a single source of support.

"Dependence creates vulnerability. Value creation creates freedom."
