Where is Magical Kenya? Where is Tembea Kenya? Where is CS Tourism? Where is the President?

A reminder how influence now moves faster than billons of shillings spent in advertising.

I didn’t know who iShowSpeed was until my son asked, “Mum, do you know iShowSpeed is in town?” A quick search later, the numbers told the story  a global Gen Z, Alpha icon, hitting 48M followers mid-flight, with millions locked onto Kenya in real time.

My first strategic question was simple:

Where is Magical Kenya? Where is Tembea Kenya? Where is CS Tourism? Where is the President?

Credit where it’s due, well done to the Government of Kenya and Kenya Tourism Board for moving with speed. Leveraging his presence instantly, sharing content in real time, and letting Kenya be seen through his lens was a masterstroke.

From Carnivore’s iconic game meat experience to Nyama Choma at Kenyatta Market, Nganya Matatu .....Kenya didn’t just host a visitor.  We showcased culture, food,  energy, and authenticity to a global audience early in the year.

The scale was impossible to ignore. The last time I saw such masses on the streets was during Gen Z maandamano and Raila’s burial. That level of organic attention is rare and powerful.

What stood out most?

He hit 48 million YouTube subscribers while in Kenya a personal global milestone achieved on Kenyan soil on his Africa tour as he wrapped his live street stream. That moment alone tied his growth story to the country.

This is what effective #tourism visibility looks like today:

This is what modern destination marketing looks like:

Agile

Culture-led

Influence-driven

Real-time

When Gen Alpha is locked on screen on a Sunday, the world is watching. Visibility like this cannot be bought it must be recognized and seized.
