When You Feel Lost

There are days when you wake up full of strength.

Your heart feels light, your mind is clear, and you are ready to face the world. You pray, smile, happy, plan your day, and move with confidence. Life feels meaningful. Hope feels natural. Even the ordinary routines of life seem beautiful.

And then there are other days.

Days when your body wakes up, but your spirit does not. Days when sadness quietly sits beside you for no clear reason. Days when loneliness creeps into your heart even when you are surrounded by people, responsibilities, blessings, and things others are praying for. You look around at your life and know you should be grateful, yet deep inside something feels empty, heavy, and distant.

Still, life demands that you move. There is work to do. A business to run. Bills to pay. People depending on you. Meetings to attend.Smiles to force. Conversations to hold.Events to attend.

So you show up not because you are strong, but because life keeps moving whether your soul has strength or not.

Those moments can feel frightening. You stare blankly at life and wonder what is happening inside you. You feel lost, inadequate, lonely, and emotionally tired. Even as a child of God, you experience moments where your spirit feels weak and your energy disappears. You begin questioning things you normally never think about. What is life really about? Why are we here? Why are we born only to struggle, grow old, repeat routines, and eventually leave this earth?

In those quiet moments, the world suddenly feels strange.

The things people spend their whole lives chasing begin to look temporary. Money. Titles. Careers. Wealth. Status. Houses. Applause. Success. You realize how quickly seasons come and go. January becomes December before you can even understand where the time went. Life becomes a cycle of waking up, working, eating, celebrating holidays, chasing goals, sleeping, weeks months pass and starting all over again.

And sometimes you pause and ask yourself, Is this really all there is?

You think about the rich and powerful people who seemingly have everything, yet some still feel empty enough to walk away from life itself. (Why do they commit suicide or give it all to charities? )You begin to understand that money cannot heal the soul. Success cannot answer the deepest questions of the heart. Achievements may impress people, but they cannot fully satisfy the human spirit.

Because when everything is stripped away the titles, the attention, the wealth, the relationships, the routines one question remains:

Who are you when you are all alone?

Those are the moments when life becomes deeply personal.

Moments when Ecclesiastes suddenly makes sense. “Meaningless, meaningless… everything is meaningless.” The writer was not denying the beauty of life. He was revealing the reality that earthly things alone cannot carry the weight of our souls. Seasons change. Feelings change. People change. Circumstances change. Life itself is temporary.

And maybe that is why God often speaks the loudest in silence.

Sometimes we become so distracted by the noise of life  chasing success, routines, and survival  that we forget to sit still and ask deeper questions. But pain, loneliness, exhaustion, and quietness have a way of removing distractions. They force us to look inward. They force us to look upward.

In those low moments, worship becomes more than music. Prayer becomes more than routine. God becomes more than a Sunday message. He becomes the only thing that truly makes sense.

You begin to remember whose you are.

You remember that before the world gave you a title, God gave you identity. Before people knew your name, Heaven knew your purpose. Before you achieved anything, you were already loved by your Creator. And slowly, even if your feelings have not changed yet, your spirit begins to breathe again. Not because all your questions are answered. Not because life suddenly becomes easy. Not because the sadness instantly disappears.

But because somewhere deep inside, you remember your “WHY.”

You remember that you were not created merely to survive patterns and routines. You were created for God. Created for purpose. Created for a season. Created to fulfill an assignment only you can fulfill on this earth. And maybe that is what keeps us going.

The hope that one day, after all the highs and lows of life, after the confusion, the victories, the suffering, the celebrations, the tears, and the questions I will stand before God. And in that moment, none of the worldly things I chased will matter more than hearing His voice say:

“Well done, good and faithful servant.”

That is the reminder that lifts me when i feel empty. That is the truth that steadies me when life feels meaningless. That is the reason i rise again even when my soul feels tired like Today, Saturday 9th May is that day.

Because at the end of it all, God is still God. Life is still a mystery. And even in your lost moments, He is still leading you.
