The Four Wars Men Are Fighting Every Day
There is so much pressure on men today.
Many people do not fully understand what men are going through. I recall one day a man telling me, You have no idea what Men go through out here? Men carry expectations, responsibilities, dreams, disappointments, and burdens that often go unseen. Yes, men have egos. Yes, men make mistakes. Yes, men go through trying times just like everyone else. But what often defines a man is not what he goes through, but how he comes out of it.
We live in a generation where many men are struggling silently. Society often judges a man before it knows him. People address you by how you are dressed, the car you drive, the bag you carry, the house you live in, or the money they think you have. Yet behind the image is often a man fighting battles nobody knows about.
Listening to Big Ted on Dialogues with Jagero he highlighlighted that there are four major wars every man fights every day.
1. The War of Family
The first war is family.
A man is constantly thinking about his family, his wife, his children, and his responsibilities. Whether he is married or aspiring to be, family remains one of the greatest burdens and blessings a man carries.
Many men fear loneliness. Many men do not do well alone.
The Bible says in Genesis 2:18:
*"It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him."*
God Himself looked at Adam and said that man was not created to walk alone. Men were designed for companionship, family, community, and responsibility.
A man's presence matters. His leadership matters. His children need him. His wife needs him. His family needs him.
A man's war with family is one he should not take lightly. The Bible reminds us that it is not good for a man to be alone, and that "he who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord." Family was God's idea, and it remains one of the greatest blessings a man can receive.
I have observed that many men who are well settled in their marriages and relationships often thrive. They carry a sense of peace, stability, and calm that positively impacts other areas of their lives. This is not to say that single men cannot be successful, fulfilled, or at peace. Rather, it is a reminder that when family is built according to God's design, it becomes a source of strength, support, purpose, and favor in a man's life.
2. The War of Environment
The second war is environment.
A seed planted in the wrong soil will struggle to germinate.
The same is true for men.
The people around you will either build you or destroy you. Sit with people who are better than you. Be around people who challenge you. Surround yourself with people who are aspirational and purpose-driven.
If you spend all your time with mediocre people, you may receive mediocre advice and settle for a mediocre life. If ypu hang out with three wise men you will be the fourth. Hang out with men or people who challenge you and are way better than you. You environment determines the kind of man you become.
Many men settle. Don't settle for ego.
Choose your environment wisely because your environment will either push you towards greatness or pull you away from it.
3. The War of Purpose
The third war is purpose.
Every man was built with purpose inside him.
We call it work.
Every morning, millions of men leave their homes and head into the world searching for significance, provision, achievement, and meaning. Deep down, every man wants to know that his life matters and that he is becoming who God created him to be.
Purpose is bigger than a paycheck.
Purpose is knowing why you exist.
A man without purpose becomes distracted. A man with purpose becomes focused.
Men must stop merely existing and start pursuing the assignment God placed inside them.
4. The War of God
The fourth and greatest war is God.
Every man without God is lost.
With God, you are everything He created you to be.
Without God, nothing else truly works.
Every decision, every relationship, every business, every family, and every purpose should be anchored in God.
A man who walks with God walks with wisdom.
A man who walks with God walks with direction.
A man who walks with God walks with strength.
Without God, a man can gain the world and still lose himself.
Men, Rise Up
Men, the world is demanding a lot from you.
But rise anyway.
Lead while bleeding.
Seek help when you need it.
Communicate better.
Walk in integrity.
Do what is right even when nobody is watching.
Do what you say and mean what you say- a man of your words
Be dependable
Be trustworthy.
Can God trust you with someone else's blessing?
Can your wife trust you?
Can your children trust you?
Can your friends trust you?
Can your community trust you?
Character still matters.
Integrity still matters.
Responsibility still matters.
The four wars that stood out to me are Family, Environment, Purpose, and God.
Pursue these four pillars with everything you have.
Be better.
Do better.
Seek Wisdom that God gives freely to all.
Heal.
Grow.
Lead.
Provide.
Protect.
Serve.
And become the man God created you to be.
Finally. A man should seek Accountability
"A wise man is accountable. He chooses mentors over ego, counsel over pride, and growth over comfort. The voices around you and the environment you live in will shape the man you become. Show me your circle, and I will show you your future." ~MN Collective
A man should have someone he is accountable to and someone he can seek advice from. No man was created to walk alone. Accountability is a sign of wisdom, not weakness.
Every man needs people who are ahead of him in different areas of life a father figure, a big brother, mentor, coach, spiritual leader, business advisor, or trusted friend. The person you are accountable to should be stronger, wiser, and more experienced than you in the area where you seek growth: financially, spiritually, emotionally, physically, professionally, or within family life.
Ask yourself? Who are you accountable to? Who has the permission to correct you, challenge you, advise you, and tell you the truth even when it is uncomfortable? Be humble to grow under someone.
Your environment shapes the kind of man you become. If you surround yourself with people who lack vision, discipline, and purpose, you will eventually reflect the same. But when you sit among men of character, integrity, wisdom, and achievement, you are challenged to rise higher.
Accountability is important because it provides:
Growth: someone helps you identify your blind spots and areas of improvement.
Learning: you gain wisdom from those who have walked the path before you.
Support: difficult seasons become easier when you have wise counsel around you.
Correction: accountability keeps you from making avoidable mistakes.
Consistency: it helps you stay focused on your goals, values, and responsibilities.
Character Development: great men are shaped by discipline, humility, and teachability.
A man who refuses accountability often stagnates. A man who embraces accountability grows. The strongest men are not those who know everything; they are those humble enough to learn, wise enough to listen, and mature enough to be corrected.
Show me your environment and the people you listen to, and I will show you the man you are becoming.
MN Collective Quote
*"A man's greatest victories are not won in public applause, but in the private battles he chooses not to quit, Family, Environment, Purpose, and God."*
