There comes a moment quiet, unsettling, deeply personal when you wake up and ask yourself a question that refuses to be silenced: Is this it?

Not out of ingratitude. Not out of comparison. But from a place of awakening.

A place where your spirit knows there is more.

I find myself in that place quite often especially when I wake and end my days.

Grateful deeply grateful for how far God has brought me. For good and bad days. For daily successes and failures. For the doors opened, the protection I didn’t even see, the prayers answered and the ones that were redirected. And yet, alongside that gratitude lives a persistent hunger. A knowing that I am not yet living at the fullness of what God intended.

And maybe you’ve felt it too.

That tension between contentment and calling.

It is often said that the richest places in the world are not cities or nations but graveyards.

Because buried within them are dreams that were never pursued, ideas that were never expressed, books that were never written, and purpose that was never fully lived.

Lives that ended with potential still inside them.

And that thought alone is enough to wake something deep within you.

The truth is, God did not create us for a life of mediocrity. Not for shrinking, hiding, or merely existing. We were created for purpose, for impact, for stewardship.

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” — Ephesians 2:10

You were not an afterthought. Your life is not accidental. There is intention in your existence.

And yet, life has a way of numbing us into routine.

Wake up. Work. Repeat.

Days become weeks. Weeks become years. And before we know it, we are busy but not necessarily fulfilled. Present but not fully alive.

Two weeks ago, a colleague woke up just like any of us do. A normal Monday. Plans. Routine. Life as usual. By Wednesday, he was in pain. By Friday, he was gone.

Just like that.

No warning. No time to recalibrate. No moment to say, “Let me now start living fully.”

I have felt this before.

Losing a friend to cancer. Losing an aunt. Watching life slip away from people I believed still had more ahead of them. More to give. More to become.

It didn’t feel finished.

And it forced a question I still carry:

Are we truly living… or just existing?

So today, I wake up with a different kind of awareness.

God, am I living or just showing up?

Am I fully present in Your purpose?

Am I happy, deeply fulfilled, knowing I am aligned with Your path?

Or am I simply moving through life, hoping one day things will change?

Scripture calls us higher.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord…”  Colossians 3:23

“Be very careful, then, how you live… making the most of every opportunity.” Ephesians 5:15–16

This is not a passive life. It is an intentional one.

One day, we will all stand before God.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23

Not well intended. Not almost tried. But well done.

Which means something was pursued. Something was completed. Something was lived out fully.

So the questions remain:

Are you showing up fully?

Are you giving your all?

Are you stretching beyond comfort?

Are you living small or are you seeking more?

Because purpose requires courage. (gaining that courage is hard! We doubt ourselves? Inposter syndrome creeps? Doubt? Just human its hard to show up ?)

It requires you to refuse to shrink. To refuse to settle. To refuse to live beneath what God placed inside you.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding…”Proverbs 3:5–6

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God… and it will be given to you.” James 1:5

“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion…”  Philippians 1:6

“Seek first the kingdom of God…” Matthew 6:33

Even in the workplace, there is a lesson.

I’ve seen environments where excellence is not optional where you are constantly pushed to do more, to think deeper, to stretch further. Not out of pressure alone, but from a belief that more is possible.

And that is a principle that reflects a deeper truth:

We were created to grow.

To multiply what we’ve been given.

To live holistically not just survive, but thrive in purpose, in impact, in faith.

So as we journey, let this be the posture:

Show up for God.

Give your all.

Do not live small.

Seek more not for ego, but for purpose.

Because after all is said and done, what will matter is not how long we lived but how fully we lived.

Did we love deeply?

Did we serve faithfully?

Did we pursue what God placed in our hands?

And so the prayer remains:

God, when my last day comes, let it find me poured out completely.

Let there be nothing left undone that You assigned to me.
