Born and raised in the area, he grew up in a time when the landscape looked very different and undeveloped. He recalls swimming in dams that today form part of the bypass, gazing toward Kamae from what is now the Rubis petrol station, and spending his childhood hunting dik-diks with friends in the Kamiti grounds. These are not just memories they are lived experiences that connect him deeply to the land and the people of Kahawawest ward.

Today, that same child of Kahawa West serves as its Member of County Assembly (MCA) a full-circle moment that reflects both destiny and deliberate service.

Dr. Clement’s journey was shaped early by discipline, structure, and sacrifice.

Raised by strict parents who were both educators in Kahawa West, he grew up in a home where education was not optional it was a calling. His parents taught many children in the community, instilling values of hard work, integrity, and service, while sacrificing greatly to ensure their own children accessed the best possible education.

He began his academic journey at Kamae Primary School in Kahawa West, grounding his education within the very community he now leads.

His pursuit of knowledge would later take him across the world, building an impressive academic profile:

Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) in Community Development, with a minor in Community Mobilization from Daystar University (Kenya)

Diploma in Project Management from the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM)

Master’s Degree in Sociological Research from the Catholic University of America, Washington DC, USA

Master’s Degree in Population and Development from the London School of Economics, United Kingdom

A PhD in Organizational Leadership (2024) fulfilling his lifelong dream of attaining the highest level of academic achievement

With over 20 years of professional experience, Dr. Clement has built a distinguished career in the NGO and development sectors.

He is a population and development expert who has:

Worked extensively in East Africa, the United States (US), and the United Kingdom (UK)

Consulted widely on community development and population studies both locally and internationally

Lectured in reputable universities across East Africa, the UK, and the US

Served and continues to serve as a director in various organizations focused on population development and social impact

His work has consistently centered on engaging diverse communities, designing solutions, and implementing programs that improve lives. This exposure has given him a rare depth of knowledge in community management, policy development, and sustainable transformation.

His contributions have earned him a litany of honors and recognitions tied to his impact in population and development work across different regions of the world.

In 2022, he was elected as the MCA for Kahawa West Ward under UDA, emerging as one of the most voted candidates in Nairobi County. This was not a small fit or step down. It was a step closer to the people.

Progress on the Kamae Settlement Scheme and support for affordable housing- ongoing

Upgrade of Kamiti Dispensary to a Level 3 Hospital

Penda/Bima Road drainage systems to address flooding

Water access expansion to Kiwanja and Kamae Phase 1

Upgrading of Station Road and creation of organized commuter and boda boda stages

Upgrading estate roads to bitumen standards

Improved lighting for enhanced security for residents who can now work till late
